The Styling

  1. Let the strapless dress stay the star of the look — the bare neckline is exactly where the statement necklace goes.
  2. Keep the rest of the jewellery minimal so the necklace doesn't compete with anything else.
  3. Add heels and a small clutch, both in black or a single metallic to match the necklace.
  4. Skip a heavy layer on top; a light wrap is enough if the venue runs cold.
The alteration: If your dress isn't strapless, this same formula works just as well with a plunge or halter neckline.
